Success stories Energy communities

Todolella, a town of 156 inhabitants in the Spanish Levante region of Castellón, has installed a collective self-consumption system.

The challenge:

The challenge was to install a collective self-consumption system that would allow the inhabitants and businesses of Todolella (Spain) to achieve savings of up to 50% on their electricity bill.

The solution:

Ten CEGASA EBick Pro 280 batteries with an accumulation of 134 kWh were installed to support the infrastructure of 190 450 Wp panels and two inverters of 20 kW and 50 kW implemented by Riello Solartech.

This collective self-consumption system allocates a percentage of the energy generated to each participant, according to their annual hourly load curve. During the hours of sunshine when the community needs less energy, the accumulation is charged, which will be discharged during night-time consumption peaks when the cost of energy is higher. In total this installation supplies 51 consumptions of the locality, including neighbours, small businesses and the local administration.

Facts and figures:

Type of installation: Community energy
Manufacturers, models and number of inverters: 2x inverters Riello Sirio 20kW and 50kW + Riello HBS 100
Number of modules and model installed: 10x E/Bick 280Pro
Photovoltaic peak power: 85.50 kWp
Total storage capacity: 134,40 kWh
