Self-generation electricity system for Frudesme (Spain)
FRUDESME is one of Europe's leading producers of dried fruits and nuts.
From its production plant located in L'Alcúdia, it supplies top quality products to a large part of the world.

The challenge:
In a factory of the magnitude of FRUDESME, energy consumption operates with peaks of intensity and the needs are unequal due to its production schedule, which implies a cost overrun. The challenge we faced was to make the energy consumption of its production plant more efficient and sustainable.
The solution:
In order to regulate and make the consumption of the production plant more efficient, a self-generation system for industrial self-consumption was installed, consisting of 16 CEGASA eBick PRO 280 modules.
This system has made it possible to work with a low voltage supply of 96 kW, so it has not been necessary to install a transformation centre for the medium voltage supply. The system is currently limiting the grid input power to a maximum of 60 kW.
Taking into account the existing subsidies for projects of these characteristics, the savings in energy costs and the power reduction involved in going from 170 kW contracted to 96 kW, a return on investment of less than 4 years is estimated.
