BPOWER is a strategic project aimed at developing a new advanced energy storage system designed to manage high-power demands in critical industrial applications, such as the naval sector.
This project addresses highly complex technological challenges associated with rapid and efficient response to energy fluctuations, especially in sectors with high operational demands, such as the naval sector and other intensive industrial environments.
The project focuses on the development of solutions based on high power density batteries (LTO, NiZn and sLFP) and the implementation of an advanced BMS (Battery Management System) for monitoring, controlling and optimising the performance and service life of the energy storage system.
With this, BPOWER seeks to:
- Improve peak demand management
- Increase energy efficiency
- Facilitate the integration of renewable energies
- Contribute to industrial decarbonisation
This project reinforces the commitment to technological innovation and the development of more efficient, sustainable and competitive energy solutions for the future of the industry.

The initiative is led by CEGASA ENERGIA, S.L.U. and has the collaboration of IKERLAN S.COOP., as agents of the Basque Network of Science, Technology and Innovation. The project is co-financed by the Basque Government (Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment) and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021-2027.
