The town of Todolella installs a solar community with CEGASA batteries that reduces the electricity bill by 50%.

CEGASA, manufacturer of products and solutions for energy storage, has participated in the installation of a collective self-consumption system with accumulation carried out by Riello Solartech in the town of Todolella, Castellón, with 156 inhabitants. Thanks to this initiative, residents and small businesses will be able to save up to 50% on their electricity bills.
The installation consists of a solar collector of 85.5kWp and 70 kW nominal, composed of 190 panels of 450Wp and 2 Riello Sirio inverters of 20kW and 50kW. In addition, it allows an accumulation of 134kWh by means of ten CEGASA EBick Pro 280 batteries and a Riello HBS 100.
The collective self-consumption system allocates a percentage of the energy generated to each participant, according to their annual hourly load curve. During the hours of sunshine when the community needs less energy, the storage will be charged, which will be discharged during the nightly consumption peaks when the cost of energy is higher. In total, it will supply 51 consumptions in the locality, including residents, small businesses and the local administration.
Specifically, the HBS system implemented by Riello Solartech, an Italian manufacturer with more than 35 years of experience in the sector, manages the discharge of batteries when the photovoltaic system is not able to supply all the energy needed, injecting the energy required from the batteries. In addition, the system manages the charging at the most economical time, in order to be able to discharge at the time with the highest cost, and increase savings, automatically.
CEGASA, with its extensive experience in the renewable energy battery sector, has been the supplier of the EBick Pro 280 batteries used in the installation. This collaboration reflects the company's commitment to sustainable development and the transition to a cleaner and more efficient energy model.
"At CEGASA, we are committed to developing innovative solutions that enable our customers to adopt a more sustainable and efficient energy model. The installation of collective self-consumption with storage in Todolella is a clear example of our ability to adapt to the specific needs of the customer", says Ramón Ugarte, commercial director of batteries and lithium-ion systems of the company".
He adds: "We are proud to be part of this collective self-consumption initiative and to contribute to the sustainable development of the local community. We will continue to work on the development of innovative and tailor-made solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers".
